The Empress CP 2816 Chase Part 2
During its visit on May 8th, 2816 came out of Bensenville yard and was shown to the public in Franklin park Illinois. Then later in the day the engine made its way into the city to be turned around and then return to Bensenville yard for its journey to its next destination. On a rainy morning of May 9th, we follow the Empress on its next leg of its journey from Bensenville, to Sabula Iowa on former Milwaukee Road trackage. This would be our final time seeing the beautiful Hudson as it continues its journey to Mexico.

A super exiting moment when Canadian Pacific Hudson #2816 made a historic tour across the CPKC system on its trip to Mexico! On this leg of its journey it starting in Portage WI to Bensenville IL on the C&M sub. We start in Somers WI with a few freights & daily Amtrak trains, and then followed the 2816 as it speeds through the midwest countryside all the way to tower B17 in Bensenville IL. Part...

Here we have my most recent acquisition. A ho Union Pacific 4-12-2 9000 class steam engine made by MTH. The 9000s were unique from it's 3 cylinders which results in a very unique sound. MTH has done an amazing job making this model and for good reason. The model includes a working gresley valve gear on the front of the cylinders, and a working inner cylinder crank. Big thanks to the Prairie Sca...

and the value has became less
How so? Are they not as expensive as they use to be?
@@TWIGYBNSF repainting old stuff lessens the value
@@TWIGYBNSF that’s why i’m letting the paint just chip on my hybrid bell
Holy- *gets destroyed by snow*
The ex-C&NW RTA E-units always kind of lived in relative obscurity in the shadow of the BN units operating just a few miles to the south. Glad to see someone got so much footage of them! Interestingly, they were often spotted on the weekends, perhaps being pressed into service while the "weekday" power remained on their trains at West Chicago, Waukegan, Crystal Lake etc...
Brass models made back in the day were well made. 🚎
Man, I need to get mine running that nicely
Definitely take everything apart and clean the gears and wheels
WCH does still make mechanical bells
Bro I’m in love with that boxcab now lol
They should be bringing it out a couple of times this year. Mostly it would be in the electric parade that they often hoast in July
nice chase! :)
I have a W BROOKFIELD NEW YORK insulator it has a backwards 1 on the top . Is it worth anything? It cleaned up nicely, thank you.
There are two electronic bells
Btw 614 only ran for 6 years the Chessie steam special in 1980-1981 The Ace 3000 project in 1985 and finally the Hoboken to Port Jervis excursions from 1996-1998
I wonder if there is such a searchlight signal that has red, lunar white, and green roundals (used under a unit with red, yellow, and green roundals). This combination could be used for a track leaving ctc territory and indicate high speed signaling (lunar white used for track leaving CTC territory and bottom green using for Approach Clear 50/60 indications)
They also delivered newspapers between Milwaukee and Chicago.
Railroad Rage?
I wish my mini bell was able to run this slow lmao. The slowest it can go where you can actually hear it if it was on a crossing is like medium-fast pace
Nice medley of trains, Amtrak, CP freight, N&S freight, Commuter-rail, topped off by, Canadian Pacific steam locomotive and mixed carriages along with dome-car. PS- Silly-me. just learned Steam locomotives have Reverse. Books about steam locomotives always show Round-Tables to turn-about locomovites. Memorable stuff. Well done. 🎉 Thank you.
How old is that h2 searchlight signal mechanism that you are working on
I haven't got a clue. Some don't have papers stuck to them with repair dates
Thank you for the information. Cool video, too.
Looks like some scenes at Waukegan before the new station was built near the very end, not sure if it starts at 13:45 or just the last minute. You can see the coach yards and station, and then as the camera pans all the cars with empty boat trailers that likely launched at the harbor that day.
When can he buy another one and link to our house REASON:they both are my MOST fav steam train
Love the Advance Approach aspect on the Searchlight Signal.
The recorder worked!!!! Yeaaaaah!!!!
I think someone stole the mars light and the ditchlights
Metra has been parting them out since the f59's came onto the roster and parting them for the F40ph's
@@TWIGYBNSFwhat’s the event called I wish metra did that event
First time seeing this, did they recently took the ditch lights off?
From what I was told, they removed them when 2816 crossed into the US
@@TWIGYBNSF They're not supposed to be removed, it stays the fuck on there
@@tonysamtraktrainvideos Why exactly? Is there some regulation that it has to have them? Never seen a US-based mainline steam locomotive have ditch lights in recent years. Or is this a matter of personal preference?
@@michaelstrains4014That's a good question! Maybe the rules for railroads in Canada are different than in the US. CP did have ditchlights on their diesels before any other class 1 railroad back in the day before the US mandated ditchlights in the 1990s. However C&O 614 did have ditchlights and still does today
@@TWIGYBNSF Lol honestly, forgot to bring that up for the 614
Very nice video footage of a beautiful locomotive and consist. Thank you for sharing this! Mike
Thanks!

CP 2816 is so beautiful. I'm so grateful to have CP 2816 as an HO scale brass model from Van Hobbies/Samhongsa. It's unpainted, but it still looks cool. 😎 I enjoyed the video. Excellent cinematography as usual. 👏😊
Beautiful model! Were can I find a J class like that?
Thanks! They pop up on ebay occasionally, but Scaletrains is doing them as well. They opened for pre-orders last month
It’s really nice to see the F units by themselves that green and silver engine is no longer in the consist
Yeah that was only in Canada and they were actually transporting it
Great Vid. I have visited there!
What is the number of the diesels that came up first
On the royal train or which one are you talking about?
@@TWIGYBNSF No the CP freight and the Amtrak
Oh the amtrak one was 90200. And the freight engine was 8129
Nice catch & chase of 2816!
CP 2816, with the AWESOME paint scheme, is one of the most beautiful steam locomotives out there. As usual, your video shows exceptional cinematography. Keep up the good work. I enjoyed watching!
Nice captures 👍
Great video my friend!!🚊
Most likely quiet zone.
Those orange Illinois Terminal interurban cars are beautiful. 19:45 But, what caught my attention was the Illinois Terminal green "compact beauty" #1565. 12:15. I am currently trying to get an HO scale brass version of it from E. Suydam and Company. Pre-owned of course. I've been trying for years, as a matter of fact. I'm NOT ever going to give up. 😊 I enjoyed watching your video...wonderful cinematography. By the way, It's good to see you again, I've noticed you've been "MIA" for a while. I hope everything's okay with you. Take care! 😁
I hope you do find one! There is a 3d printed one available online and I'm thinking of getting one myself
🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃👍Nice photography. Great video.
Thanks!
They had so much pretty equipment out. I gotta get over there sometime this summer. Fantastic video as always!
There's a trolley event and usually during the 4th of July events there's a trolley parade where all the electric stuff comes out
I might have to come down for that and bring some friends, it sounds like fun! @@TWIGYBNSF
Nothing sounds like those 567s when they are opened up!! Outstanding video.
Unfortunately, the Electroliner could not operate.
i’m trying to look for parts for my hybrid bell im missing the whole power supply and all the wires
Nice i subscribe to you
How about swapping couplers? Or adding kadee truck bushings.
kfirst one is better
Is that the same one that’s at MSI?
I believe the last rtg locomotive in Indiana has been scrapped according to a couple UA-cam replies.. idiots …
As long as it dosnt use DEF that motor block while last 30 years ....
